Xopantla, the flowering of light, is a celebration of the daily growing of the light upon the earth and the effects that it has on the plants, animals, and humans. We celebrate this ceremony as it is connected to agricultural rituals grounded in the Mexican tradition of honoring the earth and natural cycles. We honor the syncretism of our elders by welcoming the blended traditions of our prayers which include Indigenous representations of nature and their Mexican religious-cultural counterparts. Please bring a candle, flower of an offering of fruit for the altar.
