The Ethiopian Harp Begena is an instrument that has been around for centuries along with many other traditional instruments. You will be able to experience the different aspects of Ethiopian art such as traditional instruments like the Begena, gesture paintings, and coffee ceremonies.
Yilma Hailu is an Ethiopian born Gospel Singer and Artist. He has nearly thirty years of experience within the arts from theatre productions, to scenic painting, to traditional painting in churches and places of worship. He is passionate about showing the beauty and musicality of Ethiopia and its traditional instruments.
Adam Mulugeta is an American born, Ethiopian instrumentalist. He is fluent in all Ethiopian traditional instruments at the age of 24. He is passionate about his culture and faith but also dedicated to his career as an electrical engineer. He hopes to reach many communities through his love for his art.
Kesis Akalu Yosef is a priest of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. He grew up serving in the Sunday school and has been playing the Begena for over 30 years. He now serves in the EOTC as a priest and also has been featured in countless albums of other gospel singers as an instrumentalist. He is also currently working as an event technology professional.
